Recent Buys: Dries Van Noten, Chloe, YSL, Givenchy & Tomas Maier

In my last 'Recent Buys' post, I mentioned that I thought I would not be able/inclined to shop much once lil' Brigadeiro arrived, shame on me, I was wrong
...Whilst twiddling my thumbs waiting for her to arrive, and since then (waking up at various times in the morning to feed her - browsing the net with one hand), I have managed to 'kill some time' with one of my favourite pasttimes...

Dries Van Noten

The cut on the dress on the left is brilliant, wish I had purchased it earlier, as I was able to wear it (in my original pre-weight gain size) even on the night I went into the hospital, with a 10 month belly!

Chloe

I have searched for this Chloe silk top for many many years, love the draping & cut of the sleeves by Stella McCartney (ah, Chloe's glory days).

The silk & leather embroidered wedges by Dries Van Noten are a work of art, I wore these 2 days before I went into hospital with my Roksanda Ilincic silk black & peach/nude draped dress to my brother-in-law's wedding. I will try to take pictures of the incredibly embroidery on these to share...

Tomas Maier

It is true, trying to dress whilst 'nursing' is even harder than harder than trying to dress whilst pregnant; when I saw this jersey dress by Tomas Maier (love his work at Bottega Veneta), I loved the draping, the nude colour and its practicality:

Givenchy

I have yearned for these booties for quite some time, please excuse the many runway shots, I am keeping them here for my own reference for outfit inspiration...

Yves Saint Laurent

Eeps! More booties! I was always undecided on the YSL Tribute pumps, as I have always liked them, but wondered if they were a little too stripper-ish...I finally decided they were not:

TOV dress

Thanks to The Glamourai, I found this fabulous dress, with its beautiful draping & cut, and most importantly, front buttons (for easy 'nursing' fashion). When I saw it on her blog, I simply had to get it, I do not usually buy something after seeing it on a blog, but this was perfect for my needs...

I have not had the chance to take an outfit shot, plus Kelly is a much better model than I am:

Alice in Wonderland

A few weeks ago I watched Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland', and for me, one of the highlights of the movie, were the gasp-drawing costumes worn by 'Alice', played by Australian actress Mia Wasikowska. How I would love to own the piece fashioned by the 'Mad Hatter'!

Two babies in one week: Chanel 2.55 reissue aka Brigadeiro Jr!

Thank you all for your lovely & sweet comments on Lil' Brigadeiro's arrival! She sure has kept me busy the past 2 1/2 weeks, and even though I miss being able to browse my favourite blogs, I cherish every priceless minute with her...

Lil' Brigadeiro's arrival was just under one week before Mother's Day, so this was my first Mother's Day, and my mother's first Mother's Day as a grandmother (she is here visiting from Brazil, and has been an incredible help, especially the last week or two).

As a complete surprise, hubby spoilt me for my first Mother's Day with the most incredible present: a Chanel 2.55 black distressed calfskin reissue with gold hardware. All I kept thinking as I opened my present was (a la Wayne in 'Wayne's World'): "I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy"! I have never really been much of a Chanel bag fan, until recent years, when I fell in love with the reissue bag, with its mademoiselle lock (I am not a fan of the interlocked CC's, even though those are my initials, haha) and distressed calfskin (I am also not a fan of the more quilted look of the Classic Chanel bag). Mr Brigadeiro is not usually one to lavish me with clothes/shoes/bags, so I was absolutely floored with this gift, my new baby:

I cannot wait to use my new baby, but am wondering: does anyone know what leather product I can use on Chanel calfskin? I am trying to find a leather protector, cleaner & maybe moisturizer, but am not sure which one to buy. I have heard of 'Loving my Bags', Vectra & 'Applecare'...any tips anyone? Thanks in advance!

Little Brigadeiro has arrived!

I cannot believe Little Brigadeiro is two weeks old today! Mr Brigadeiro & I are absolutely smitten!

This was the 'last meal' I had before heading to the hospital, nothing like yummy Japanese:

Tuna tataki (lightly seared tuna sashimi) with crisp leek and ponzu vinaigrette

Takoyaki (light, crispy octopus & vegetable puffs served with Japanese BBQ sauce, mayonnaise and Bonito flakes) & Age-Gyoza (homemade dumplings)

Spider roll (soft shell crab sushi)

Unagi Don (Eel & rice)

Katsudon (crumbed pork & yummy potato salads)

Just because I was under 'hospital care' does not mean I did not get to eat well (especially in the last two days): Tasmanian smoked salmon with Persian fetta and watercress salad and kalamata olives

Chargrilled octopus on warm kipfler potatoes with seasonal bitter leaf salad

Vanilla bean panacotta with delicious berry compote & friand

One week old...

She has Mr Brigadeiro & I wrapped very tightly around her little finger...

And is always hungry!
