What I wore: pastels and florals, oh my!

It is funny how colours can change one's mood. In taking the first picture below, I fished out this little-worn Miu Miu Bow bag I've had in my wardrobe but hardly wear.  I obsessed over the Miu Miu Bow bag for the longest time! When I finally got my hands on one, I was carting my 'baby bag' everywhere, so this was put on the back burner, and then I found it a little 'girly' whenever I reached for it.  Doesn't mean I didn't keep taking it out of the wardrobe to be admired from time to time, haha.  Anyway, I digress.  After snapping the pic, I decided to wear it over the weekend, and teamed it with one of my favourite dresses by Dries Van Noten.  Its painterly florals has me giddy like a little schoolgirl whenever I see it, ever since I saw it on the runway for the Spring/Summer 2005 collection.  Because I would feel too 'frou frou' in anything else, I 'dressed it down' with some Isabel Marant Dicker boots.  I'm not sure why I don't feel quite right unless I'm slightly 'undone', does that make sense?  Probably not.

Peut-etre magazines, Miu Miu Bow bag, Chanel ballerina pumps, lily flower from my garden in an Antipodes water bottle glass (love this bottle!)
Went on a little shopping spree at Country Road, mostly falling hard for their homeware and childrenswear (this is only a sample of what I got *gulp*) - first time I've ever actually partaken in their 'spend and save'.
My espresso coffee machine conked!!! I am so lost without it! Had to make my espresso this morning on the stovetop, and couldn't froth my milk! First world problem, I know, but I drowned my sorrows with some macarons whilst perusing one of my favourite Dries Van Noten lookbooks from Spring/Sumer 2006.
Wore this to my brother-in-law's big birthday celebration bash (take 2 - this time for family), it was a fabulous lunch at the Barossa, the kids had an absolute ball, as did the adults!

Outfit details: Dress: Dries Van Noten (seasons old), Bag: Miu Miu Bow satchel (available here), Shoes: Isabel Marant Dicker boots (available here, anthracite available here and here...).

Hope you all had a fab weekend!

Happy Monday!
xx

Valentino & Lace

I'm not sure why when I upload my photos to Blogger the quality goes horrendous! Anyway, apologies for the poor quality photo.  Over the weekend, my bro-in-law turned 40! His shindig was fantastic, and we had a ball, I felt like 'dressing up', and stepped out of my usual style, and 'frocked up' in some lace, some Valentino and even an Assad Mounser 'crown':

Valentino Trompe L'oeil Patent Mary Janes
Donna Karan Collection wrap dress with full skirt worn over an Alannah Hill lace 'I like it I'll take it' shirt I've had for over 10 years, love the French lace on this, so have held onto it all this time.
Other 'accoutrements: Chanel Boy bag, Assad Mounser 'crown', Ek Thongprasert bracelet (purchased from Farfetch, now sold out, in a different color available at Moda Operandi, Luisa Via Roma here, and here) , Balenciaga bow ring (from Matches Fashion), and Popbasic wishbone ring (will share  more about this soon).

Hope you all had a fab weekend!

xx

Happy Valentine's Day!

Woke up to find this on the kitchen counter from Mr Brigs, such a sweetheart (he is not usually overly romantic).  When I saw the ice cream below, I couldn't resist, I mean, how cute does it look? It was also delicious! This 'Mango Heart' was mango ice cream with a salted caramel biscuit filling encased in white chocolate, yum!

HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY everyone!

Even for those who don't celebrate it ;)

And I don't think of it as just a day to celebrate 'couple love', but also love for parents, siblings, friends, children, pets, and pet cactus plants, haha!

xx

Peter Pilotto for Target available at Net-a-Porter!

I don't quite understand why, but I'm not complaining. Peter Pilotto for Target is available at Net-a-Porter!  Sadly they don't ship to Australia (or Slovenia, for that matter), but nothing a forwarding company won't fix, right?

My search for the perfect chambray shirt ends at Scanlan & Theodore

This week was quite a rollercoaster, with incredible heat that caused power blockouts, followed by a crazy windstorm that caused city-wide damage and further blockouts (for 13 hours in my area, but even longer 5 minutes away, where my parents were).  Also, it was Lil' Brigs #2's first two days at childcare.  With a few hours to myself (I thought it'd be more, but housework sadly does not take care of itself), I managed to squeeze in some shopping in an actual brick & mortar store! Too many tempting offerings at Scanlan & Theodore!

Isn't this painting absolutely gorgeous?!? My sister painted it and gave it to Lil' Brigs 2 for Xmas (Lil' Brigs 1 pictured here, trying to hitch a ride on the hot air balloon)
The little ones' backpacks by Skip Hop
I have been searching for a nice chambray shirt for years.  Couldn't decide between this beautifully soft and fluid (tencel) denim shirt (epaulettes are a weakness of mine), and the one below.  The one below was a definite, but I caved and bought this one too)
Love the neutral colour of this chambray, the cut (sadly one size too big, but if I tuck it in properly will still look good).  These pants were too big for me, but I was just trying them on as I was wearing a dress that day, plus I have these jeans in my size at home (and also in 4 other colours now! Yikes!)
Also couldn't resist this cotton/silk shirt dress (not a very good pic), love a good shirt dress, they're so easy to just throw on and get out the door...

My favourite pair of low boyfriend jeans, originally purchased in black, then added a navy/ink pair, then white, and then in the last few days, in the red and cobalt blue (have been after a red and cobalt pair of pants/jeans for years!)

New in: Valentino Patent Trompe L'Oeil Mary Jane Pumps

It has been years since I've bought 4" stiletto heels, as I've been opting for mostly practical flat or 2.5" heels (or thereabouts).  I recently broke my high heel 'drought' with a pair of beautiful Valentino Trompe L'Oeil Mary Jane Pumps, which arrived this morning from Departement Feminin.  As always, the customer service was a delight, complete with a beautiful scented package and handwritten note...

Cherries are my favourite fruit. YUM!

Shoes pictured with our latest issue of Peut-etre Magazine, which also featured the Valentino shoes, but in the 'chunky heel' version.

These shoes are a departure from my usual style, as I am not a 'polished' and elegant type of girl, unless it's slightly (or very) 'undone'.  So I'm picturing this mostly with my trusty drop crotch black pants from Scanlan & Theodore, and occasionally, worn with dresses when I feel like dressing up...

Happy Monday everyone!

All pics my own via iPhone (except for the large pictures of the shoes on their own, which is taken from the Departement Feminin website)
